Bridging Cultures and Technology: My Erasmus+ Experience in Lithuania
Giorgi Kakashvili arrived at the Informatics Science Department of Šiaulių Valstybinė Kolegija from the 10th to the 14th of March. Representing Caucasus International University (Georgia), he conducted lectures about AI benefits for Informatics Science students.
The teacher shared his experiences about the mobility:
„I had the incredible opportunity to represent Caucasus International University at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija in Lithuania as part of the Erasmus+ mobility program. This experience was not only professionally rewarding but also culturally unforgettable.
During my visit, I delivered a lecture titled "Everyday AI: Bridging the Gap Between People and Technology." The session focused on how artificial intelligence is becoming an essential part of our daily lives—simplifying processes, enhancing decision-making, and transforming the way we interact with technology. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm of both students and faculty as they engaged in discussions and shared their perspectives on AI's future potential.
Beyond the academic experience, I had the privilege of meeting local professors and lecturers, exchanging ideas on teaching methods, and attending an insightful presentation about the college’s structure, resources, and technological capabilities. Exploring their academic environment and learning how they support students in acquiring both theoretical knowledge and practical skills was truly fascinating.
What made my journey even more memorable was that it coincided with Lithuania's Independence Day celebrations. I was fortunate to witness a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony, where the entire city came together to honor their country’s history and freedom. One of the most unforgettable moments was participating in a large flag procession—an emotional and powerful event that made me feel connected to the local community, even as a visitor.
This mobility experience provided me with much more than academic insights. It broadened my cultural horizons, helped me build new international connections, and reinforced my belief in the value of global collaboration.
I am deeply grateful to Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija for their warm hospitality and to Erasmus+ for providing this fantastic opportunity. I leave with valuable professional knowledge and wonderful memories that will stay with me for years to come.“
